Windies concerned over tour of Pak

The West Indian Cricket Board is worried over its team's planned tour of Pakistan, but has given a go ahead to play in Sri Lanka, reports SADA news agency.

West Indian Board officials met in Antigua at the weekend and decided there were no risks in going to Sri Lanka, starting in the first week of November.

They, however, deferred a decision on touring Pakistan. West Indies officials would meet Pakistan Cricket Board officials at the International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting to get security assurances.

The ICC meets in Kuala Lumpur October 16-19. The West Indies is scheduled to tour Pakistan from January 29 until March 4 but is worried due to U.S. plans to launch retaliatory attacks on Afghanistan.

New Zealand cancelled its tour of Pakistan last month. The West Indies team was to play three Tests and as many one-day games in Pakistan.
