Irani Trophy match at Nagpur

Irani Trophy tie shifted to Nagpur, put-off by a day Mumbai, Oct 9 (PTI) The five-day Irani Trophy cricket match between Rest of India and Ranji Trophy champions Baroda will be held at Nagpur, from October 13 to 17.

Board of Control for Cricket in India executive secretary Sharadh Diwadkar said the BCCI was forced to shift the tie from Pune due to heavy showers there.

The match had to be put off by a day because of live telecast by Doordarshan, he added.

V K Ramaswamy of Hyderabad and Vijay Chopra of Delhi will be the umpires while Bhagwandas Suthar of Madhya Pradesh will be the match referee.

Rest of India will be led by Test star V V S Laxman, who has completely recovered from the knee surgery he underwent in Australia last month.
