ICC to help Pakistan

The International Cricket Council has promised to consider special steps to help Pakistan overcome financial losses in the wake of cancelled tournaments, reports SADA news agency.

"Pakistani cricket had taken a body blow since the September 11 attacks in the U.S., which caused cancellation of their home series against New Zealand and shifting of ICC meeting from Lahore," it said.

New Zealand cancelled a planned three Tests and equal number of one-day match series in Pakistan while a short series with Sri Lanka could not be materialized due to security fears in the region.
