Rest of India struggling at 60 for 3
Rest of India were struggling at 60 for three in their second innings on the penultimate day of
the Irani trophy cricket match against Ranji Trophy champions Baroda, in Nagpur, on Tuesday.
Set to score 273 for an outright win, Rest reduced the
winning target to 213 runs but lost three important
wickets.
Former India stumper Nayan Mongia had a role in all three dismissals.
Those back in the pavilion were A Chopra, who was caught by Nayan Mongia off the bowling of Rakesh Patel for 4; Vinayak Mane, who was caught by Mongia off the bowling of Pathan Sr for 2; and Hrishikesh Kanitkar, who was caught by Mongia off the bowling of Pathan junior for 21.
Earlier, after resuming at the overnight score of 124 for two, Baroda were all out for 285.
Skipper Connor Williams (83), Nayan
Mongia (52), Himanshu Jadhav (42) and Irfan Pathan junior (32)
propelled the Baroda second innings.
Off spinner Sharandeep Singh finished with three wickets for 75 runs. Debashish Mohanty (2 for 57), Rahul Sanghvi (2 for 62) and Tiny Yohannan (2/70) were the other wicket-takers.
