Kiwi 'A' team to return from India

The visiting New Zealand 'A' team withdrew from the Coromandel King Moin-ud-Dowla Gold Cup cricket tournament in Hyderabad and will be flying back home on Thursday night because of the horrifying terrorist attacks in the United States.

The team, which was to play in the semi-final round match of the tournament, against former champions MRF XI, looked dejected after learning about the decision to return home.

Team manager Ross Dykes had earlier said he was confident of winning the tournament, which carries a cash prize of Rs 100,000.

Five members of the team -- Chris Nevin, Lou Vincent, K Mills, Jacob Oram and G Suizburger -- were included in the senior New Zealand, which called off its tour of Pakistan early Thursday.

The New Zealand 'A' team had won the Butchi Babu tournament in Madras two weeks ago.
