St George's Park (Crusaders Ground), Port Elizabeth

St George's Park (Crusaders Ground), Port Elizabeth About the city:
Port Elizabeth, city in south-eastern South Africa, in Eastern Cape Province on Algoa Bay (an arm of the Indian Ocean). It was founded in 1820, as a British settlement around Fort Frederick (1799), the oldest British building in southern Africa, and was named by Sir Rufane Donkin, the acting governor of the Cape Colony, for his deceased wife, Lady Elizabeth. However the city grew after it was connected by rail to Kimberley in 1873, which spurred development of the port. South Africa's greatest batsman Graeme Pollock, comes from this city.

About the ground:
It is the home of the Eastern Province side. It is the oldest first-class ground in South Africa. The first Test match in South Africa was played at this ground in March 1889. Since then nearly 300 first-class matches have been played here, including 19 Test matches. In all 14 one-day internationals have been played here. India had lost its first Test match in South Africa at this ground in 1992, while recently Kenya created an upset by defeating India by 70 runs.
