India refuses visas to Pakistan Veterans Cricket team

India has refused to give visas to a Pakistan Veterans Cricket team and the tour has been postponed, reports SADA news agency.

"We have been informed by Man Singh, president of the Indian Veteran Cricket Association, that the Indian foreign ministry has refused to give US visas," the Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association said in a statement.

Majid Khan, a former Pakistan captain, was scheduled to lead the Pakistan Veterans to India to play exhibition one-day games against the Indian Veteran team. The matches were to be played in Jodhpur, Hyderabad, Patna, Lucknow and Calcutta.

"We have decided to postpone the tour and will talk to our counterparts in India some time next year," the statement said.

Sporting links between Pakistan and India have been on hold since the Kargil border conflict in Jammu and Kashmir in 1999. India refused to let its Veterans team to tour Pakistan last year.

India has not played any cricket match against Pakistan since the final of the Asia Cup in June in Bangladesh and has snubbed two Tests tours of Pakistan in the last one year.
