Scindia wants professional to head BCCI
With the Board of Control for Cricket in India's elections round
the corner, its former president Madhavrao Scindia on Monday said he favours the appointment of a professional with money-management skills to head the august body.
"The BCCI is now a body of nearly Rs 150 crore [Rs 1.5 billion] plus and to
manage such a big amount, we must think of appointing a
professional managing director who knows money management
even if he does not belong to the cricketing world," he told
reporters in Indore.
The BCCI elections are slated to be held in Madras, on
September 29.
Scindia also suggested setting up a trust to manage
the board's affairs, and said all former BCCI presidents should be
made its members.
On the performance of Madhya Pradesh cricketers, he said: "It was unfortunate that local lad Amay Khurasia was unable to
perform well in spite of being given many chances."
Scindia, however, hoped that more players from MP would
get a chance to play at the national and international level
in the coming days.
