Vishwanath match referee
for England-Lanka series

Former India Test batsman Gundappa Vishwanath, Mike Procter and Clive Lloyd will take on ICC Match Referee duties for the three forthcoming series in England, involving the host country, Sri Lanka and India.

Vishwanath, a veteran of 91 Test matches, will be in charge of the three-Test England - Sri Lanka series, featuring matches at Lord's (May 16 to 20), Edgbaston (May 30 to June 3) and Old Trafford (June 13 to 17).

The ICC Playing Control Team for the series will also feature Elite Panel umpires S Venkataraghavan and Daryl Harper (Lord's and Edgbaston) and Steve Bucknor and David Orchard (Old Trafford).

Bucknor and Orchard will stay on to stand in the Nat West Triangular Series, which will also mark Mike Procter's first appearance in the country as a member of the new five-man ICC Referees panel.

Clive Lloyd, in his second spell as an ICC Match Referee, has been appointed to officiate in the England - India Test series. Elite Panel umpires for the Tests will be Rudi Koertzen and Russell Tiffin (Lord's, July 25 to 29 and Trent Bridge, August 8 to 12) and Asoka De Silva and David Orchard (Headingley, August 22 to 26 and The Oval, September 5 to 9.)

Former West Indies captain Lloyd will also be in charge for the innovative One Day International series between Australia and Pakistan in June. Two of the three matches will be played indoors in Melbourne (June 12 and 15), with the third staged outdoors at the Gabba in Brisbane (June 19), a city with a fine, dry winter climate.

Russell Tiffin will stand in all three games
