Razzaq helps Pakistan clinch series

Abdur Razzaq smashed an entertaining 86, as Pakistan beat New Zealand by three wickets in the second one-day international on Wednesday to clinch the best-of-three series 2-0.

Craig McMillan struck a career-best 105, as the tourists compiled 277 for five off 50 overs. Pakistan reached the target in 47.1 overs for the loss of seven wickets.

Razzaq and Younis Khan (70) put on 93 runs for the fourth wicket to set up victory.

Razzaq, who was named man of the match, hit 10 fours and one six during his 119-minute stay at the wicket, while Younis struck seven fours in his 92-ball knock.

Pakistan started the run chase badly. Imran Nazir was bowled first ball by Daryl Tuffey and then Yousuf Youhana was bowled by Andre Adams to leave the hosts reeling at six for two.

Shahid Afridi steadied the ship with a 40 made with some typically aggressive attacking strokes before Razzaq and Youhana took up the charge.

Inzamam-ul-Haq contributed a useful 26 and Rashid Latif then weighed in with an unbeaten 28 to guided Pakistan home.

Earlier, McMillan made up for the loss of injured Nathan Astle with a blazing knock that surpassed his previous best of 104 not out made against Pakistan at Christchurch during the 2000-2001 series.

McMillan reached his hundred off just 111 balls and hit eight fours and one six in his innings, sharing a third wicket stand of 92 with Adams (45).

Opener Mathew Horne had set the foundations by making 62 before he was trapped leg before by Wasim Akram, who along with Waqar Younis picked up two wickets apiece.
