Nepal youngsters fall to Zimbabwe in plate final

Zimbabwe ended Nepal's dream run in the Plate Championship final of the ICC Under-19 World Cup with a comfortable 137-run victory on Friday.

Replying to Zimbabwe's 247 for one, Nepal were bowled out for 110 with fast bowler Waddington Mwayenga and spinner Hamilton Masakadza doing most of the damage.

For Zimbabwe, Brendon Taylor led the way with an unbeaten 100, and he was ably supported by skipper Tatenda Taibu who finished 65 not out. The only wicket to fall was opener Charles Coventry who scored 64. Scores:

Zimbabwe beat Nepal by 137 runs. Zimbabwe 247-1 (Brendon Taylor 100no, Tatenda Taibu 65no, Charles Coventry 64), Nepal 110 in 35.4 overs (Sakhti Gauchan 30; Hamilton Masakadza 3-16, Waddington Mwayenga 3-25).
