Indian board to take on ICC again
The BCCI seems to be heading for another collision with the ICC over inclusion of two former players on the International Cricket Council commission into the Mike Denness affair.
The commission is being set up to examine the penalties handed out by match referee Mike Denness to six Indian players, including Sachin Tendulkar, after the second Test against South Africa in November last year.
BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya has objected to the nominations of former Pakistan player Majid Khan and former Australian player Andrew Hilditch by the ICC for the commission.
Dalmiya has asked for former Australian captains Richie Benaud and Ian Chappell instead.
Meanwhile, BCCI honorary secretary Niranjan Shah said it is unlikely that this year's ICC Knockout tournament will be held in India.
Shah said that it would not be profitable for India to host the tournament because the Indian government has refused to give the board the tax exemptions
it required to conduct the event with a profit margin.
The ICC may consider Sri Lanka, Sharjah or Australia for alternative venues.
