Glenn McGrath summoned by match referee

A hearing was conducted by International Cricket Council match referee Hanumant Singh following the conclusion of the VB Series match between Australia and New Zealand at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday 11 January.

The hearing concerned Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath, who was charged under clause C3 of the ICC’s Players and Team Officials Code, which states: “Players and/or Team Officials must at all times accept the umpire’s decision and not show dissent at the umpire’s decision.”

Under the terms of the Code of Conduct, the match referee has between 30 minutes and 24 hours to make his decision following the hearing. As such, a decision is expected at some stage on Saturday.
