Harris returning to New Zealand

New Zealand's all-rounder Chris Harris is returning home less than a day after he won the Man of the Match award for scoring an unbeaten 42 and taking three wickets in the team's 23-run win over Australia in Sydney.

The 32-year-old has withdrawn for undisclosed personal reasons and the manager Jeff Crowe said that he had the full support of the team.

"It's not known if Harris will rejoin the side during the tri-series," he added.

New Zealand have won two of their three games so far and can take a major step towards a place in the final if they beat South Africa in Brisbane on Saturday.

A veteran of 191 one-day appearances, Harris scored almost 3,500 runs and taken 177 wickets since making his one-day debut in Sydney 11 years ago.

If Nathan Astle comes through two provincial games unscathed following an injury lay-off he might join the squad.
