Under-19 team wins practice matches

The India under-19 team ended preparations in their bid to retain the junior World Cup title with a second practice match win at Auckland in New Zealand on Thursday.

The Indians, who take on Canada on Monday in their first match, defeated Parnell Cricket Club by 66 runs in their second practice match. They won the first match too.

Mumbai batsman Paul Valthaty slammed a superb 81 and featured in a sound stand of 77 with wicketkeeper Maninder Bisla, who made 30 in the team's score of 236. Stuart Binny also compiled 30.

The Parnell club were restricted to 170 for nine, thanks mainly due to leg spinner Chandrasekhar Atram's four for 46 and medium pacer Siddharth Trivedi's two for 22.
