Kumble to lead India in Chennai ODI

Ace leg spinner Anil Kumble will lead India in the third one-day international against England in Chennai on Friday in place of skipper Saurav Ganguly who pulled out of the game due to a injured hamstring muscle.

The national selectors met in Chennai on Friday morning and decided in favour of Kumble who is the senior-most player in the team, said BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah.

Shah said Railways all rounder Sanjay Bangar will replace Ganguly in the XI and Virender Sehwag is 'likely' to open India's batting with maestro Sachin Tendulkar.

The Indian team:
Anil Kumble (capt), Sachin Tendulkar, V V S Laxman, Virender Sehwag, Hemant Badani, Dinesh Mongia, Ajay Ratra (wk), Harbhajan Singh, Javagal Srinath, Ajit Agarkar and Sanjay Bangar.
