India in Under-19
World Cup semis

Defending champions India swept into the semi-finals of cricket's Under-19 World Cup on Tuesday with a six-wicket win over Sri Lanka in a repeat of the last tournament final.

Maninder Bisla India, led by man-of-the-match Maninder Bisla, who scored 49 from 56 balls, took only 34.4 overs to surpass Sri Lanka's total of 195.

The win made India the first team to book a place in the semi-finals from the tournament's Super League competition involving the top eight teams from pool-play -- India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, the West Indies, England, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

The West Indies beat Pakistan by six wickets in other Super League match to revive their semi-final chances after an earlier defeat.

Now Pakistan must beat rivals India on Thursday to qualify for the semis.

In plate matches, played between the bottom eight teams identified in pool-play, Bangladesh beat Kenya by nine wickets and Zimbabwe defeated Papua New Guinea by 66 runs.

Bangladesh took 37.4 overs to overhaul Kenya's total of 175-8 while Zimbabwe, all out for 207, dismissed Papua New Guinea for 141.
