India under-19s in a tight spot

India under-19 were in a tight spot on the penultimate day of their first four-day Test against England under-19 at Cardiff on Monday.

After securing a first innings lead of 186 runs, the home team had reached 116 for five at close of play on the third day to establish a lead of 302 runs.

Earlier, England amassed a massive 511 for nine before declaring their first innings, thanks to a brilliant 254 by G J Muchall, who stroked 37 fours and 3 sixes in his knock.

In reply, India were all out for 325 with Subhojit Paul scoring 115 aided by 16 fours and 3 sixes.

In the England second innings, Kadeer Ali is the top scorer with an unbeaten 49.
