Injury puts Kumble out of
last two ODIs

Ace leg-spinner Anil Kumble has been ruled out for the remaining two one-dayers against Zimbabwe due to "weakness in his bowling shoulder" while left-arm spinner Murali Kartik and dashing batsman Yuvraj Singh returned to the national team.

The selection committee, which met in Kochi on Wednesday, however, deferred the announcement of the team for the West Indies tour to March 21.

A Board of Control for Cricket in India statement said the team would be announced in Mumbai after assessing the performance of the players in the last two one-dayers.

Earlier, on Wednesday morning, Sourav Ganguly was named skipper for the tour.

"Kumble, who did not play in the third one-dayer today due to pain in his bowling arm, is showing signs of weakness on his shoulders, and keeping in mind the surgery he underwent recently, he has been given rest," the statement said.

Karnataka's Vijay Bhardwaj was also included in the 14-member squad while off-spinner Sarandeep Singh and Test opener Shiv Sunder Das were dropped.

The team
Sourav Ganguly (captain), Rahul Dravid, V V S Laxman, Dinesh Mongia, Mohammad Kaif, Yuvraj Singh, Sanjay Bangar, Harbhajan Singh, Murali Kartik, Zaheer Khan, Ajit Agarkar, Ajay Ratra, Vijay Bhardwaj, Tinu Yohannan.
