India 'A' - Sri Lanka 'A' first
ODI rained off

Bad weather continued to dog the India 'A' team's cricket tour of Sri Lanka, forcing the abandonment of their first one-dayer without a ball being bowled at the Police Park ground in Colombo on Friday.

A heavy downpour just before the match was due to begin rendered the ground unplayable.

With more rain predicted tonight, the second game at the same venue may also be a non-starter tomorrow.

The three-'Test' series was ruined, with some cricket being witnessed only in the first match, and the rest being rained off, forcing the two teams to agree to play five one-day matches instead of the planned three-match series.

The third and fourth matches are scheduled for June 3 and 4 at Dambulla, where there is no rain. The fifth match is due to be played at the R Premadasa stadium in Colombo on June 6.
