Australia will rest strike bowler Brett Lee for Wednesday's third and final one-dayer against Bangladesh but have recalled Jason Gillespie.

"He (Lee) has bowled fast. He's intimidated their batsmen a little bit and he just hasn't bowled any bad balls," Australia captain Ricky Ponting told a news conference.

"I think when someone of his calibre is doing that, it doesn't matter who the opposition are, it's going to be hard work for anybody."

Lee, bowling at speeds of more than 154 kph, took four for 25 in a fiery eight-over spell bowling down-wind in Saturday's first match, hitting Al-Sahariar on the body with successive deliveries and breaking the thumb of wicketkeeper Khaled Mashud.

Gillespie is also in form, taking seven wickets in last month's second Test and three for 23 in the first one-day match last week before the big South Australia was rested from the second game.

Australia, who won both Tests by an innings last month, lead the one-day series 2-0 after victories by eight and nine wickets in the northern Queensland city of Cairns last week.

Damien Martyn blasted an unbeaten 92 off 51 balls to lead the world champions to victory on Sunday and said he was looking forward to playing the final match of the series in the city of his birth, the Northern Territory capital Darwin.

"I've got to try and get up the order again (to number three), so I'll speak to Ricky," Martyn told reporters.

Australia: Ricky Ponting (captain), Adam Gilchrist, Matthew Hayden, Damien Martyn, Michael Bevan, Andrew Symonds, Ian Harvey, Brad Hogg, Andrew Bichel, Jason Gillespie, Brad Williams.
