The prestigious C K Nayudu under-19 cricket tournament will be held in the Kashmir valley from September 5 to 12, an official source said in Srinagar today.
A meeting of senior officials of the state's sports department was held on Thursday to finalise the venues and preparations for the top junior cricket event in the country.
Ten venues, including the University of Kashmir and Sopore stadium, across the valley have been chosen to host the preliminary round of the event.
All the venues will host at least five games and the final will be played at the Sher-e-Kashmir cricket stadium, which has hosted two One-Day Internationals.
The authorities hope the congregation of top junior teams and upcoming talent from all over the country will boost the game in Jammu and Kashmir.
