Former India captain and Delhi chief coach Bishen Singh Bedi on Saturday slammed the Delhi and District Cricket Association for not announcing the coach and team though the new season is round the corner.

Bishen Singh Bedi"For some unknown reason, DDCA is sitting idle not taking any decision regarding the team," Bedi told reporters at a press conference in the capital today to announce the launch of a pre-season camp for budding cricketers.

"Mumbai has announced their team one month back and started preparations. Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and other small states all have begun preparations for the new season," Bedi said.

"This is not a criticism, just an observation," he added quickly.

Bedi, who was Delhi's chief coach for the last three years, said the DDCA is yet to renew his contract.

Refusing to discuss the issue in detail, the 57-year-old spin legend said: "I know I can't do anything else other than cricket. I know I can't do a business and survive... I know my limitations."

Last year, the DDCA had appointed former Test cricketer Yashpal Sharma as the senior coach of the team.

Bedi also wondered how Delhi would host matches this season with the Ferozshah Kotla unavailable as the stadium is undergoing major renovation.

"I shudder to think how DDCA is going to organise their cricket this season," he said.
