Pakistan has suggested that the Indian cricket team tours the country between February 26 and April 15, 2004, for its first full tour of Pakistan since 1989.

The Pakistan Cricket Board said the Board of Control for Cricket in India is yet to reply or confirm the tentative schedule, during which the teams are expected to play three Tests and seven One-Day Internationals.

"We have suggested the tour from February 26 to April 15 with seven one-dayers and three Tests and a few side matches. But we have not finalised the venues as yet," a PCB official was quoted as saying in Islamabad on Wednesday.

He said as soon as the BCCI approves the dates and matches for the tour the PCB will decide on the venues and try and include Karachi and Peshawar, the two cities which were avoided during the recent tours of South Africa and New Zealand because of security concerns.

PCB officials also said Federal Minister for Interior Affairs Saleh Faisal Hayat issued a directive to the PCB to ensure that teams visiting Pakistan in future should agree to play in Karachi as there are no security problems there.
