Former Indian leg spinner L Sivaramakrishnan will assist Sri Lankan spinners at a three-day camp in Colombo from July 15 to 17.

Sivaramakrishnan, now a member of the Board of Control for Cricket in India's 'Spin committee', will interact with newly-appointed Sri Lankan coach John Dyson of Australia, who replaced Dave Whatmore.

Popularly known as 'Siva', the lanky leg spinner was considered a prodigy, but went downhill after serving India from 1983 till the 1987 Reliance Cup, hosted by India.

Thanking BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya and his employers India Cements for granting him permission to accept the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka's offer, Sivaramakrishnan said that he is confident he would be able to help aspiring spinners all over the world solve their problems.

"After I was out of the Indian team, I have been in constant touch with the game. I still play competitive cricket for India Cements in the Tamil Nadu first division league," he said.

Sivaramakrishnan said he would help eight young spinners of the National Cricket Academy. He would also conduct video analysis and prepare them for higher level competition.

"I will teach field setting and tactics in match situations."
