Mohammad Kaif scored 30 runs as Derbyshire suffered a crushing innings and 42 runs defeat against Worcestershire in a four-day Frizzell County Championship match in London on Friday.

Having conceded a first innings lead of 138 runs, Derbyshire, who were precariously placed at 51 for five overnight, were all out for 96 in 32.4 overs on the fourth and final day today.

Kabir Ali bagged eight wickets to ensure a huge victory for Worcestershire.

Kaif's hopes of pulling his side out of the woods were dashed as he could add just four more runs to his overnight score of 26 before being trapped leg before wicket by Ali.

Kaif's 52-ball effort included six fours. He emerged the joint top-scorer with L J Wharton.

The Indian all-rounder had scored 31 in Derbyshire's first innings total of 163.

Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh, playing for Yorkshire, had a disastrous outing, being out for a duck in the second innings.

He scored just seven runs in Yorkshire's first innings total of 448.

In their second knock, Yorkshire lost six wickets -- three of them to Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar in seven balls -- for 103.

With a first innings lead of 121, Yorkshire are 224 runs ahead of Durham with four wickets intact.

Durham made 327 in their first innings.
