Virender Sehwag on Saturday cracked an unbeaten century to help Leicestershire consolidate their position in a four-day county match against Nottinghamshire at Grace Road.

Sehwag, who opened the innings, was unbeaten on 121 off 122 balls at close of play. It was a characteristically aggressive knock by the India opener, studded as it was with 23 fours.

Sehwag's belligerence saw Leicestershire reach 159 for two in reply to Nottinghamshire's first innings knock of 326.

Elsewhere, the other two Indian stars -- Yuvraj Singh and Mohammad Kaif -- failed to click.

Yuvraj, playing for Yorkshire against Somerset at Taunton, continued with his uneven patch scoring only 5 runs.

However, a brilliant unbeaten 183 by M J Wood and his 165-run stand with Stephen Fleming (98) propelled Yorkshire to a first innings score 362 for six wickets in reply to Somerset's 275.

In the Northamptonshire vs Derbyshire four-day county match, Kaif got off to a start but failed to build on it and was dismissed for 28 runs.

The laboured 54-ball effort from the Indian youngster did little to help Derbyshire's cause as the side was skittled out for 160 in 53 overs while replying to Northampton's 243.
