South Africa captain Graeme Smith and all-rounder Andrew Hall, and Pakistan batsman Yousuf Youhana have been charged by the International Cricket Council following incidents in a one-dayer in Lahore on Sunday.
Smith has been charged with using obscene or offensive language.
Hall faces charges of using inappropriate and deliberate physical contact and bringing the game into disrepute. Youhana has been charged with bringing the game into disrepute.
The trio will face ICC match referee Clive Lloyd after the sport's ruling body reviewed TV footage.
A spokesman for the Pakistan Cricket Board told Reuters on Thursday the hearing would be on Friday morning, before the fourth-one dayer, which is a day-night game.
Hall and Youhana clashed in the 13th over of Pakistan's innings on Sunday. TV replays suggested that after the batsman exchanged words with Hall he was elbowed as he took a single.
Hall then confronted him, touching his bat and thrusting his face in Youhana's, who responded angrily before umpire Nadeem Ghouri stepped between the players.
Smith and Hall could be fined or suspended if found guilty. Hall faces the stiffest punishment under ICC code of conduct regulations, a suspension of between two to four tests or four to eight one-day internationals.
Youhana could receive an official reprimand or be fined up to 50 percent of his match fee.
Ironically, earlier on Thursday, Smith had called for greater maturity on the field following a series of incidents in the first three games.
South Africa's Shaun Pollock was fined his full match fee for dissent in the third match on Tuesday, while Mark Boucher and Shoaib Malik attended a hearing after Malik claimed the tourists' wicketkeeper used abusive language towards him.
Pakistan lead the series 2-1. After Friday's fourth match, the last game is on Sunday, also in Rawalpindi.
