Tendulkar becomes fifth-highest run scorer in Tests

Sachin Tendulkar became the fifth-highest scorer in Test history during the second Test against New Zealand on Sunday.

The 30-year-old Tendulkar, who had started his 107th match at 8,826 runs, crossed Pakistan's Javed Miandad's 8,832 when he moved to eight with a straight boundary off fast bowler Ian Butler.

Only Australians Allan Border (11,174) and Steve Waugh (10,660), India's Sunil Gavaskar (10,122) and England's Graham Gooch (8,900) and have scored more runs in a Test career.
