The United Cricket Board of South Africa on Tuesday agreed to tour Pakistan, having cancelled it earlier due to security fears triggered off after a bomb blast in Karachi last week.
Pakistan Cricket Board's Chief Executive Officer Rameez Raja, while confirming the news to rediff.com, said the UCB have agreed to a truncated tour. But he did not give details of which Tests and ODIs have been dropped.
"I have just received a press release from the UCBSA about the shortened tour, the modalities of which we will have to work out now," he said.
The management committee of the UCB, which is headed by Board president Ray Mali, also includes vice-president Rob Kurz, treasurer John Blair, legal adviser Brandon Foot and security consultants.
A website quoted the UCB Chief Executive Gerald Majola saying the decision was based on information their security consultants provided.
