ICC Chief Executive Malcolm Speed expressed his delight at the early interest shown in the tournament.

"As India plays an historic series in Pakistan it is good to see that there is great enthusiasm for this traditional rivalry in England as well," said Speed.

"The ICC Champions Trophy is the only occasion outside the ICC Cricket World Cup when all of the world's top cricket sides are brought together in one competition and this is one of many exciting matches that will take place in the 16-day event."

This will be the first time that the prestigious tournament is staged in England.
