Tatenda Taibu made history on Tuesday when he became Zimbabwe's first black captain in the opening one-day international against Sri Lanka in Bulawayo.
Taibu, 20, heads a team that includes four debutants after a revolt that led former captain Heath Streak and 12 other white players to make themselves unavailable for selection.
The rebel players want Streak reinstated as captain and a revamped selection panel. The new caps are Brendon Taylor, Tinashe Panyangara, Prosper Utseya and Elton Chigumbura.
"I'm very proud to be captain, and I'm looking forward to leading the team," Taibu told reporters.
Taylor, 18, is the only white player in the team. Every other Zimbabwe team has featured more whites than blacks.
Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl.
