Reid to coach Indian bowlers in England

Former Australian pacer Bruce Reid will once again train the Indian bowlers ahead of the NatWest Challenge limited overs series against England as well as for a brief period during the next month's ICC Champions Trophy.

Reid commenced his stint with the Indian team with the first practice session at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on Sunday and would continue to assist them on Monday and Tuesday.

The 41-year old Aussie would rejoin the team in England after India's opening match in the Champions Trophy against Kenya on Sep 11 and assist them till the second tie against Pakistan on Sep 19, team manager Gautam Dasgupta said on Monday.

The former left arm seamer, with 113 wickets at 24.63 from 27 Tests, had earlier been a consultant coach for Sourav Ganguly's men on their tour of Australia last season.

India play England in three one-dayers on Sep 1 (at Trent Bridge), on Sep 3  (The Oval) and on Sep 5 (Lord's) before the Champions Trophy that begins on Sep 10 with an England-Zimbabwe clash.

The 12 teams, including the 10 Test playing nations, Kenya and the US, are split into four groups of three with the top team from each progressing to the semifinals on Sep 21 and 22. The final is slated for Sep 25.
