Maharashtra trounced Assam by an innings and 46 on the penultimate day of the four-day Ranji Trophy Elite Group 'B' match at Aurangabad on Wednesday.
Resuming at 302 for seven, Maharashtra were bowled out for 400 in their first innings, but not before Mohan Dhruv, who was batting on 93 overnight, completed his century in style.
Dhruv, who made 122, was trapped leg before wicket by Arnald Konwar, who was the most successful Assam bowler claiming four for 110.
Needing 199 to make the hosts bat again, Assam batsmen could not withstand the pressure and the entire team was bowled out for paltry 153 with veteran speedster Iqbal Siddiqui claiming three wickets.
Assam scored had 201 in their first innings.
Siddiqui, playing his 62nd match, achieved a milestone by claiming 250 wickets and scoring 1000 runs in his long career.
