Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar on Sunday inaugurated the MRF go-karting but refused to speak to the media.
The Indian star drove two lapses of the go-karting course at the Acers Club in suburban Chembur before cutting the red ribbon to officially inaugurate the event and then posed for photographers. He was accompanied by his young son Arjun.
During prize distribution ceremony when the reporters requested MRF General Manager (Marketing) Anthony Rodrigues to fix up a meeting with Tendulkar, they were informed that the maestro was not interested in speaking to the press.
"He (Tendulkar) did not even want to come and inaugurate the meet but after repeated requests he agreed and also made it clear that he will not be speaking to the media on any topic", Rodrigues added.
However, go-karting officials said Tendulkar did not want to speak to the press after home ministry and the IndianĀ Cricket Board (BCCI) had asked him to do so but failed to give proper reason for not speaking to the press.
