England off-spinner Robert Croft has announced his retirement from international cricket, according to his county side Glamorgan.

The 33-year-old played 21 Tests and 55 one-day internationals. Hardly a big spinner of the ball, he enjoyed his best moments abroad, taking 35 wickets at 24.65 apiece away from England, compared to his overall career figures of 49 wickets at 37.24.

Frustrated at being overlooked by England, he announced in 2000 that he would no longer be available before changing his mind.

He last played for the national side in 2001. He was a member of England's squad for the three-Test tour of Sri Lanka at the end of 2003 but did not get a game.
