Pakistan Cricket Board Chief Executive Rameez Raja has said he would not bow to calls for his resignation and would continue in the top post since there was "a lot of work to be done for the betterment of Pakistan cricket".

"If anyone has the impression that I would quit because of the circumstances, he is mistaken," said the former Test captain, who has come in for severe criticism following Pakistan's first ever home series loss to India in April.

"I have said it before that I will leave the post of chief executive the day I stop enjoying this challenging post.

"But it is not going to happen soon because there is lot of work to be done for the betterment of Pakistan cricket," Raja was quoted as saying in local daily 'The News'.

Raja has especially been a target of criticism on account of his holding multiple posts as the PCB chief executive, a television commentator and director of a Pakistani bank.

But Raja said he could not see any "conflict of interest involved" in his holding multiple posts and that he never abused the post of PCB CEO to find favours for other jobs that he held.

"I have always said that commentary is my bread and butter. I am also working as chief executive because I honestly believe I am doing justice to it," he said.

"... I know I am doing my best and there is no conflict of interest involved. I have never tried to use my CEO post to pull strings and do things that would be beneficial for me as a commentator."

Raja also stressed he had no difference of opinion with PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan.

"I get along fine with Shaharyar Khan. We have the same vision about how to bring about improvement in Pakistan cricket and the domestic structure."

On the bad blood between him and the regional cricket bodies, he said his stand vis a vis state associations was a "principled one".

"My stand is a principled one. I want them to be accountable just as the Board is accountable.

"... They want share of the income earned from the India series, they will get it but only after they submit regular accounts of the money we are giving them."
