Former Board of Control for Cricket in India chief and Cricket Club of India president Raj Singh Dungarpur said efforts are on have floodlights at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai so that the historic ground can stage international matches again.

"Without lights stadiums do not get big matches. Hence we have decided to have floodlights at the stadium. I am sure it will not be too long before big time cricket comes here," Dungarpur said on Monday, at a function to welcome the ICC's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit delegates, who are in Mumbai for a three-day seminar.

"The Brabourne Stadium is one of the best in the world with a picturesque backdrop. I can assure you gentlemen that when we host big time cricket again, like we did in the sixties and seventies, you are welcome to watch some fine cricket and enjoy the hospitality of the club," he said.

Welcoming the ICC representatives, Dungarpur said, "CCI is proud to host the meeting for the second time within a year and hope we will continue to do so in the future as well."

Chief investigator and ICC ACU General Manager Jeffery Rees said the visit to India has been a fantastic experience for him and his colleagues.

"The hospitality and the love of Indians have to be experienced to be believed," he said.

He declined to say anything about the seminar, saying: "We can't discuss anything about the seminar as we are bound by certain [ICC] rules and regulations."
