Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul Haq donned the role of a perfect ambassador shortly after arriving in India on Wednesday, speaking about the need to use cricket as a vehicle for "building relations" between two countries.

Inzamam said winning or losing would not matter much in the commemorative one-day international against India on Thursday as the 'emphasis should be on goodwill'.

"We are coming back after 1999. We are happy to be here, people of both countries have warmth for each other. We are neighbours and know each other well," he said at the IGI Airport in New Delhi.

"Celebration will not take away focus from cricket but the important thing is to build relations. So winning or losing does not matter on this occasion," he said.

Inzamam did not believe that the recent victories against India would give them a psychological edge. "Results of previous matches do not matter. It is a new match."

"There will also be some pressure of playing India in India," he said.

"Butevery outing against India, no matter where, does involve a lot of pressure. I hope the boys will enjoy the game," he added.

The Pakistan team arrived at around 1600 hours IST by a PIA flight en route Kolkata for the day-night encounter at the Eden Gardens as a part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Board of Control of Cricket in India.
