Pakistan's former all-rounder and one of world's greatest fast bowlers Wasim Akram said, on Wednesday, that India had not been able to produce genuine quick bowlers on regular basis because of "lack of culture in this sphere in the country".

"As against this, from the very beginning Pakistan has been producing good fast bowlers, which has become a trend of sorts with some great performances by Pakistani bowlers working as an inspiration for the budding cricketers in our country," Akram told reporters in Pune.

Batting has always been India's forte, Akram said after launching "Accu-Chek" Inspiration Series 2004 -- a diabetes awareness drive initiated by Roche Diagnostics (India) Pvt Ltd.

Describing batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar as his favourite batsman, the former Pakistan cricket captain, who  despite being a diabetic, continued to play international cricket, said the Indian cricket team "looks formidable and is complete now."

About Indian leggie Anil Kumble, Akram said he is a very good bowler, "otherwise he would not have had 400 Test wickets to his credit."

He said the BCCI, being one of the richest cricket bodies in the world, should use the money for development of the game only.
