Pakistan Cricket Board had earned a whopping Rs 75 million from gate collection during the historic March-April home series against India.

"The gate receipts' total for the series was the highest ever in Pakistan's cricket history, representing a five-fold increase over the previous highest figure of Rs 15 million during the 1996 World Cup," the Pakistan Cricket Board said in a statement on Thursday.

After the controversy regarding misuse of tickets by the Board members during the high-profile series, the statement claimed that no complimentary tickets were being printed for the ongoing series against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka.

"The PCB will maintain its previous stand against VIP culture by not issuing complimentary tickets, especially as those seeking complimentary passes can easily afford to buy tickets available in the market," it said.

For the ongoing tri-series, the tickets have once again been made foolproof with computerised bars to prevent forgeries. To avoid delays in entering the stadium, computer-based checking will be employed.

"Computer-based checking at the turnstiles takes 3-5 seconds and will not cause delays. Security screening by the police will also be required before entry.

The PCB also said a limited quota for some special categories including the disabled had been set aside.
