Experienced wicketkeeper Moin Khan has rejoined the Pakistan team in the three-nation one-day series, Paktel Cup, after recovering from a severe viral illness.

The 33-year-old, veteran of 217 one-day internationals and 68 tests, missed the last two matches of the series against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka because of the chest infection.

"Moin is now fit and has resumed training with the team," Pakistan Manager Haroon Rasheed told Reuters on Monday.

Pakistan, whose batsman Younis Khan has been filling in for Moin, have already qualified for the final after winning three of their four matches. They are training in Lahore for the October 14 clash against Sri Lanka and the final on October 16.

Pakistan are also hoping that pace bowler Shabbir Ahmed recovers from a knee operation in time for the two-test series against Sri Lanka starting on October 20.
