Australia captain Adam Gilchrist said his team still has a good chance of staging a comeback in the second Test.

"We were not looking at the end result today. We were trying to stay in the game. Today was damage control," Gilchrist said, at a talk show in Chennai on 'The Art of Winning' with commentator and former Australian batsman Dean Jones.

"The first one to one-and-half hours' play tomorrow is crucial for us," he said, adding Australia still has a good chance of beating India if the team plays well in the remaining sessions.

India took a 56-run lead over Australia at the end of the second day's play after bowling out the visitors for 235 and still has four wickets in hand in their first innings.

Gilchrist also termed Virender Sehwag's 155 as "outstanding".

"At one stage, his score was 150 out of India's total of 220," he said.

Replying to a question, Gilchrist said, Sachin Tendulkar was the greatest batsman he has played against, closely followed by West Indies captain Brian Lara.

"He [Sachin] looks more comfortable and in control of everything. He is definitely the best batsman I've played against," Gilchrist said.
