Faced with litigation, the Board of Control for Cricket in India postponed the scheduled reconvening of its Annual General Meeting on October 26 to complete the pending agenda.

The adjourned meeting will not be held on October 26 as on the same date the Supreme Court will hear the appeal filed by the BCCI against the order of the Madras High Court, a top BCCI source said in Kolkata.

The source said the meeting would be held depending on the order of the apex court.

The Madras High Court had earlier restrained all the newly elected office-bearers of BCCI from functioning following an appeal by Netaji Cricket Club of Chennai. The order, however, was stayed by the Supreme Court and the final hearing on the matter is slated for October 26.

The AGM of the BCCI, held in Kolkata on September 29 and 30, had been adjourned till October 26 as it could not discuss the agenda related to the appointment of outgoing president Jagmohan Dalmiya as the Patron-in-Chief due to an order by a Chennai court.

Dalmiya, whose three-year term was to end with this AGM, was appointed as Patron-in-Chief of the BCCI at a Special General Meeting in Chennai on September 12. But the same had to be ratified by the AGM here which could not be done due to the order of the Chennai city court forcing the adjournment of the AGM.
