A Bhopal court reserved its order on a contempt application, filed on Tuesday, accusing the Board of Control for Cricket in India of violating the court's previous order restraining it from taking any decision outside its rulebook, for Wednesday.
Bhopal Divisional Cricket Association member Yogesh Khattar filed a fresh application before civil judge P K Nigam through his counsel Ajay Gupta, alleging that BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya's appointment as patron-in-chief till 20O7 amounted to contempt of court.
Gupta prayed for "attachment of property of BCCI, its agents, servants and office-bearers," apart from seeking their "detention in civil prison for a period of three months".
He contended that the respondents "acted in violation of the order" passed by the court on September 10, and made "themselves liable to be punished under order 39, rule 2- of the Civil Code Procedure for disobedience and breach of injunction order passed by his honourable court".
Judge Nigam, who heard Gupta after asking newspersons to leave his courtroom, reserved his verdict on admissibility of the contempt application till Wednesday.
The court had earlier accepted a petition by Khattar alleging the move to appoint Dalmiya as patron-in-chief was outside BCCI's rulebook.
