The Asia Cup limited overs tournament, slated to be held in Pakistan from February 14 to 28 next year, has been put off indefinitely, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced in Mumbai on Sunday.

"I had a meeting today with the Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Shaharyar Khan and we took a few decisions. One of these was to postpone the Asia Cup to a future mutually convenient date," Pawar said.
Consequent to this development, the Indian team would now reach Lahore in Pakistan on January six, instead of January one as per the earlier schedule, and leave for home on Februay 20 instead of staying on to play the multi-national one-day event.
India are scheduled to tour Pakistan to play a three-Test series followed by a five-match one-day bilateral rubber.
"We have agreed that the matches would be held at Lahore, Faisalabad, Karachi, Peshawar, Rawalpindi and Multan," Pawar said, adding that the complete itinerary would be decided soon.
"Yes, we had a discussion on the Pakistan tour with the team management," Pawar said to a pointed query.
Pawar also said that it had been agreed between the Indian and Pakistan Boards to play the bilateral series on the pattern of the Ashes, that is, every two years.
Shaharyar had told reporters on Saturday that the PCB favoured the two-year gap in order not to "strangle the goose that laid the golden egg."
It was also decided to have an annual match between the winners of the national cricket championship of the two countries.
"The championship would be held annually between the Ranji Trophy champions (of India) and the Quaid-E-Azam championship (of Pakistan) to be played in India and Pakistan alternatively," Pawar said.
He did not elaborate whether the championship would be held in the same season or the subsequent season.
