Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria, who had a successful Test series against Australia, has been left out of the one-day squad to keep him fresh for next month's tour of India.
"The selectors wanted to retain him (Kaneria) for the one-day matches as he has been bowling well. We felt it would do him no harm to remain with the team and this would also give more bowling options to the team management," Pakistan Chief selector Wasim Bari said.
"But the captain (Inzamam-ul-Haq) and coach (Bob Woolmer) felt that Kaneria has bowled a lot of overs in Australia and he should not be overbowled keeping in mind the Indian tour coming up. So it would be better to rest him for the one-day series," Bari was quoted as saying in 'The News' on Wednesday.

Pakistan lost the Test series against Australia 0-3 and would be playing five one-dayers from January 14. They will be touring India to play three Tests and five one-dayers beginning late February.
Bari said the selection committee had made the changes for the one-day matches in consultation with the team management.
"We took their views strongly into consideration because they are the ones playing in Australia".
Bari said that the selectors had relied entirely on reports and feedbacks from the team management in Australia on the fitness position of several players.
