Injuries have forced Adam Gilchrist and Jason Gillespie out of Australia's triangular one-day series match against Pakistan in Hobart on Sunday.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Gilchrist injured his left knee in Friday's win over West Indies, the first match of the series, while paceman Gillespie is suffering from discomfort in his right calf muscle.
Team physiotherapist Errol Alcott said Gilchrist was being rested as a precaution and would be available for Australia's next game against West Indies on Friday.
"Adam alerted me to the pain after last night's match. We had some diagnostic scans taken earlier today which revealed some soft tissue irritation and swelling," Alcott said in a statement on Saturday.
"He won't take part in the match in Hobart but he is expected to be right for the next match in Brisbane."
Alcott said Gillespie would continue receiving treatment and would be reassessed next week.
