Sourav Ganguly's patient half century could not stop Glamorgan's downward spiral towards in the County Championship Division One match against Middlesex at Cardiff on Saturday.

Ganguly's 92-ball 55 with 10 fours propped up the host's second innings after they had slipped to 153 for four as he added 53 runs for the fifth wicket with Mike Powell (unbeaten on 55) before falling leg before to New Zealand pacer Scott Styris on the third day of the four-day match.

Glamorgan, following on after conceding a lead of 302 runs, were 240 for six in the post-tea session.

They were earlier all out for 232 -- with Ganguly contributing four -- in reply to Middlesex's massive 534 in the first innings.

Jamie Dalrymple and Owais Shah cracked 108 and 101 respectively for Middlesex while right arm paceman Peter Trego and Styris picked three wickets each to rout Glamorgan.
