Former Zimbabwe captain Heath Streak, who has not played international cricket since he led a walkout in April last year, rejoined the squad on Monday.
"That's accurate, he gets in this (Monday) evening at around 8pm (2330 IST)," team manager Babu Memen told Reuters on Monday from Port Elizabeth, where Zimbabwe play their third one-day international against South Africa on Wednesday.
"It's very likely that he will play on Wednesday, and he will stay on for the Test series."

The ZCU fired the rebels, and the inexperienced team it was forced to select, has lost 22 of 24 one-day internationals.
The International Cricket Council suspended Zimbabwe's Test status until the end of last year, and in their first match after their return Zimbabwe handed Bangladesh their first Test victory in January.
Rebel all rounder Andy Blignaut has also returned to the fold.
Memen said he did not know if more of the rebels had re-committed themselves to Zimbabwe cricket.
Fast bowler Streak, 30, should bring welcome experience to a Zimbabwe team that has been thrashed by a record 165 runs and 131 runs in the first two one-day internationals against South Africa.
Before the walkout Streak was the spearhead as well as the workhorse of the Zimbabwe attack.
He is Zimbabwe's leading Test wicket-taker with 202 wickets in 59 matches.
